DieselBurps, I first cleaned all areas I planned on sealing. On my new camper I was able to go right over the existing Dicored seams. On my travel trailer , once the seams were cleaned and dry. I resealed with Dicor. Once that had cured I went over my seams with the Eternabond. This will give you double protection. As far as the edge of the Eternabond there is no need to seal the edges. Do Not Stretch the Eternabond. Lay it on flat starting at one end. Allow it to lay on being carful to allow it to take the shape of any rises or falls or valleys of any given seam. By not stretching the Eternabond and alowing it lay flat as you go rubbing it so it can adhere is key to it not lifting at an edge once it is installed. Take your time. Once installed it will give you a very solidly sealed seam.On you tube there is some great videos of the installation of the eteranabond product. There is actually a high end rv manufaturer that uses Eternabond at the factory to seal the front of a brand new motor coach were the roof joins the front cap or facia. Good Luck.
