Roof Warranties

I posted a question regarding this topic in the travel trailer general Q&A section - I'm not trying to create a duplicate post, but thought someone here could answer my main question about roof warranties.

The question is whether or not roof issues are covered longer that the standard 12 month warranty. The membrane on my 2012 Coleman CT250GS purchased in July, 2011 has begun to seperate from the roof. I'm extremely unhappy about this as one would not expect issues such as this on so new of a unit. Is there any pull/contact with the manufacturers? Any help would be appreciated.

  • The roof MEMBRANE is usually warranted for a period of from 10 to 12 years but that's doesn't mean it's attachment to the trailer would be covered. That would be handled under the trailer manufacturer and THEY are going to be asking what was used ON the roof before they would pick it up even then. As long as the membrane itself does not LEAK (and they almost NEVER do) then no warranty coverage. Just remember though, it NEVER hurts to ask them.
