Roulotte, Apalache 1973 Trailer

Hello,

I bought a 1973 Apalache trailer. I tried countless times to find information about the manufacturer but have not had any luck.

Here is a link to a french website that has a picture of the exact model of trailer: http://tanguayrecreatif.com/showroom/apalache-73/

I want to know if this company is still operating.. or where I can buy replacement parts?

The hood vent is broken and I need to fix it.

Thank you!

  • Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me!

    I have been searching for a few months now and was not able to find any information on the trailer or manufacturer.

    Much appreciated! We are in the process of restoring the entire trailer. Paint, new panelling, fabric, cushions, flooring, plumbing, etc.. It's 90% finished. I will post a picture on our first excursion!
  • Hello;

    I am quite familiar with this brand and others that were produced in the province of Quebec. They produced travel trailers , class C motorhomes and folding camping trailers. They did go out of business and I believe it was in the late 80's early 90's. Components used in production were actually imported from the US. You should be able to get similar parts. I would suggest that you check the RV Warehouse in Cookstown or Hughes RV in Orangeville, both have on-line /rv parts catalogues. Hughes has been around for years and will know how to get older parts if still available.

    Other Quebec manufacturers that went out of business during the 80's and 90's were 4 Seasons, Val-Bar, Unik and in 2005-2006 Bonair RV went out of business. The Rv industry in Quebec was heavily subsidized by the federal government . Today a couple of newer , smaller producers are doing quite well producing small travel trailers and class B motorhomes.

    If you looked I think I provided a picture of one for sale in the third link that’s why I posted it, but I don’t know anything about them…
  • Thanks for the responses.. but I think they're incorrect. The trailer that you both mentioned is an Apache.. not "Apalache".

    I've discovered that the Apalache tailer manufacturer went out of business between 1980-1985. From my research, they made very few models of trailers.. as all of the pictures look very similar.

    Has anyone heard of this specific brand?

    Thanks!
  • The first pup we ever used was an Apache. Was plastic all over, and had what seemed like a million to one ratio on the crank. But it was a great popup. Hope you can get your's repaired.

  • I grew up in one of those !!!! Went all over the country with the family. Sadly, Apache went out of business a long time ago. There are forums for the Apache name and places that you can get parts. Google that and have fun. The lifting mechanism can be difficult to find, but they are out there. My Dad ended buying a second one very used, for parts, to keep his up. Good luck....lots of memories when I see them..........
