- wcjeepExplorerI run it on recirc. Regardless of temp, weight or elevation.
- HalmfamilyExplorerI personally hate having the A/C on while driving but the wife on the other hand has to have it on. I've been know to turn on the A/C full blast for her and open my window especially in traffic. It can be 100° out and I'll have my windows down and sunroof open, love the fresh air.
Never has affected the trucks temp while pulling with the A/C. - My air runs when it is hot. Last summer going up Baker grade was the first time I have even seen the needle move. Quite a novelty actually. Did I slow down 5mph... yes but the air stays on max in 110+ heat regardless.
- Community AlumniI turn it off when climbing steep grades, specially when driving through the desert in the summer.
- carringbExplorerYou won't be able to tell a difference in power or any of your operating temps, running the A/C while towing with the V10. The V10's cooling system is oversized for stock power output.
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIX2 on running the air. But if I am going up a grade I shut it off and if stuck in traffic for a long time it get turned off also.
- KD4UPLExplorer IIIf I couldn't tow with the AC on I'd put the truck in the shop or trade it.
- Sandia_ManExplorer III would be camping by myself if I didn't. Running AC shouldn't cause overheating unless there are other issues that need attention. Whether it's freezing outside running our TV's heater or 100+ degrees traveling though Texas all day at interstate speeds with AC blowing full blast, our coolant temp varies very little.
- Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerYour single and travel alone don't you? :B
- ChooChooMan74ExplorerI do, but it does make my little diesel run warmer. I am in the process of trying to improve the cooling on it. But, the ECM will cut the A/C once the engine temp reaches a certain level, then it will cut power.
