A fridge in a travel trailer is not a high end cooler, it barely has any insulating value at all. I had mine out in the garage for a short while, plugged into an hour meter on 120 Volts and monitored just how often it had to run to stay cold.... Over a one week period (168 hours) it ran for 4998 minutes (83.3 hours)
That's very interesting! I had never considered what the fridge would draw plugged into 110 or how often it would run.
I bought my rebuild project trailer in late October 2003. A short time later when I took it apart, I removed the fridge, placed it in my garage and plugged it in to 110V. Nearly ten YEARS later, it remains there and plugged in. The only time I unplugged it was about 3 weeks ago when I decided to defrost ten years of ice buildup inside.
I wonder how much it has run in 10 years!!:E
