As one who has spent a lot of time calculating the practicalities of a trip to Oz, two warnings:
-- Australia is one of the few developed countries that still requires either a Carnet de Passages en Douane or a cash bond to import a vehicle temporarily, :M and,
-- Australian phytosanitary regulations are the stuff of legend. Budget a few hundred dollars or so to have your vehicle cleaned. :E
