RV cover

We need to get an rv cover for our 241rlk kz connect travel trailer. The height and width seems to be straight forward but measuring the length has me puzzled. Do you just measure from the front hull to the rear of the trailer or do you include the ladder? With the rack and spare tire flipped up would you measure that too?
  • ADCO recommends including the ladder but I'd always just measure the box itself at it's longest dimension and go with that. Covers, unless custom made for a specific trailer, are sized in ranges - i.e. 20' 1" to 22', 22' 1" to 24', etc, so chances are your's won't be at the extremes anyway. Obviously the covers are fabric and are quite generous so I personally wouldn't worry about the ladder, the spare tire & bracket I wouldn't cover anyway as I always dress the cover tight to the trailer's rear wall.

  • Measure the extreme distance for everything that will be under the cover. The covers will have some latitude, usually a foot or two. So just measure the extreme length you want under cover, and make sure the one you get is within that range. If your actual measurement is 24.5 feet long, then you'll want one that sells for 24-26 feet. Unless you have one custom made for your exact camper, they all have wiggle room.
  • Or just use a Sunshield tarp. Search this Forum for more info on Sunshield.
  • Whoever you buy it from normally tells you how to measure for their cover.
