Don't know that I'd say they're phasing them out, but I do think there is a more limited market. For whatever reason, you'd think that in the colder climates they'd be almost nil, but go on the hybrid side here or to Hybrid Explorer and they're very popular. Folks in the far north LOVE their PUPs and HTTs. Like PUPs there is a certain market, but I think the PUPs appeal to more of the tent-camper types and TTs a larger market. HTTs fall somewhere in the middle. You're right about the prices getting closer. We loved our HTT for over 7 seasons and would not have made the change other than the fact that we're getting older and the HTTs just do take a bit more set up. They're tough to find on the left coast where the weather is perfect for them...a friend ended up driving from No CA to Chicago to get his. We loved towing smaller and lighter weight and then having lots more room. I doubt that they'll ever disappear, but do think the market will be pretty much limited to Forest River ROO/Shamrock and the various Jayco models + a few odds and ends. You either love or hate HTT camping. We love it, but we got older. Now we're very happy with our TT. The right time for us to make the change.
