Went to my first RV show. I've been doing research for about 6 months on travel trailers, tow vehicles, etc... Decided to go to the RV Show in Atlanta. Not to buy, but to look at what kind of deals ...
You also might consider the value of having a relationship with your local dealer when it comes time to get service or warranty work done. Many stories here about being last on a very long list trying to get help from a dealer who knows you went out of twn or out of state to buy your rig. Unlike a car dealership, most RV dealers will service their own customers first so saving a grand or two may be very costly in time spent waiting for your repair/service. Just food for thought.
