We originally turned our table 45 degrees. Not so much for better sitting arrangements, but so it was easier to pass between the kitchen sink counter and the table when the slides were in. We went for 4 chairs to 2. Later, we removed the table completely when we put in a couch. We never used the table anyway, at least, not to eat from.
The trailer came with these on the floor and it came with straps to hook into them. Each kitchen chair had a way to strap to the floor to keep from moving. These worked so well, I added more and use them for securing everything now. The additional ones are hangers you put on the back of a picture frame. I just used a heavier screw on the floor. These are small, blend into the carpet, and very, very easy to add.
I even put a couple on the factory provided hide-a-bed couch. The bottom is a drawer that slides out. Unfortunately, when driving, the drawer always slid out. Simple solution? I added one of these same hooks on each side of the couch and use a clip strap to keep the drawer shut when in transit.
Wear on your carpet under the table? It won't be any different than anywhere else on the floor.
