I'm just curious. Why the change. Looked like a great rig. What didn't you like about it? What are you expecting to gain with a B or C
A good question....
First the truck and camper is PERFECT in so many ways and that is what made it so hard to sell. But it had a few things that were an issue more for me than for most campers, they may seem like small things but to me they had all added up and said time to sell now while everything was still in good shape. A couple of the reasons are......
1 - I have a health condition and I really want / need a way to get from the front to back without going outside, that is why a class B or C. I carry a lot of photo gear and every night and morning having to move my gear is getting very tiring. This is the biggest reason but I would have kept doing it if this was the only reason but with a number of other things, only some listed below, I figured it was not worth the investment in an older truck to add a sliding window and other options and still not get everything I want.
2 - The truck did not have power windows and while this seems small to many being a photographer this was an issue when I was out shooting as I do shoot from the vehicle a lot or just use the open window to listen to sounds before I go out.
3 - Having to open the front doors to open the back doors was a pain, especially for when my son comes with. I would have camera gear behind my seat so he would sit on the right side and I would have to go over to that side to open the door for him when we got out or got in.
4 - I really want a unit that the heat from the front will heat the back so when driving for several hours when I stop the back is at least a little warm in cold temps. Again I could turn the heat on in the camper but thought that was a waste to heat it all day for the possibility of stopping some time.
Like I said not big reasons but enough when added up to say this is the time to sell. I looked at all options of selling just the truck and getting a new truck but it seemed like it was only doing part of the job. It also came to a point that there was no sense looking at other RV's till I knew if I could sell my current one. Now that it is sold I can look and if I find something buy it without waiting, I had found a few units that fit what I wanted but they sold very fast.
So now it is to look and see what I can find. If I cannot find a class B or C that I like I have not ruled out another truck and camper but will wait and see. Like someone said maybe having a couple units is better for what I want, will have to see.
