I'll admit I shed tears when we sold our Class C and I was doing the final cleanout before the new owners arrived. Soooo many wonderful memories....
That being said: as a photography vehicle, a traditional Class C can present obstacles. Ours was a "widebody" - meaning it had huge shoulders which precluded capturing anything farther behind you than a 90-degree angle; the overhang often gets into your photos; and the massive rearview mirrors also create giant obstacles to shoot around.
On the other hand, being able to set up camp; and then wake up and capture early-morning wildlife without disturbing them, is a big plus. So is being able to pull over and use the potty or have a snack/beverage, without exiting the RV, is nice. And if you're stuck in traffic (we sat for 5 hours after a highway was shut down due to a fatal accident) - it's absolutely the best way to go. We turned on the TV and were able to see WHY we were stopped.
I like the go-anywhere portability of a truck camper - but I still miss our Class C.
