Sorry to hear about the accident.
Cops in last years seem to downplay all the reports.
I heard that even reporting gun fire in some jurisdiction will not create Police response, unless somebody got shot.
I helped a friend who's got rear ended by young female driver driving with no proof of insurance on her and with expired registration.
We called the Police and in the mean time driver's father come with "proof of insurance" what was for a truck, not present at the scene and expired 6 months.
Cop did accept it and gave us a story that he can't issue a ticket not being able to contact DMV for expired registration.
I am carrying dash cameras in my vehicles and for daily driver I did not hesitate to spend $300 for quality camera with rear recording as well.
