Wow. I thought it was just SOP for the cops to check cellphone logs to see if anyone was calling or texting at the time. Got all these distracted driving laws on the books, why don’t they use them?

One other point, was 3tons over weight? All those jacks couldn't lift his truck?
Though my camper was full of water, my weight was not over (14kGVWR) nor did it play any role in the accident, nor did either insurance company bother to even pose this question, since even had overweightness contribuited to this malady, they still are on the hook for my potential careless mistakes (how many times has this recurring issue already come up !!)...The jacks that didn’t work were flimsy 3T rated HF floor jacks and in my opinion were at a disadvantage due to the ‘lever effect’...You might try rehearsing the use of one on your rig in advance before you travel...Bottle jack is definitely the way to go...
