Sorry, I’m not a believer that holding a cellphone is equivalent to DUI.
I’ve seen many people unable to keep focus on their driving due to a number of factors including talking to the person in the seat next to them. I think it’s dumb to think holding a cell phone is dangerous, but using hands free is not. Similarly, dialing a phone or quidkly taking a picture is dangerous, but finding the right song on a deck isn’t. I think the laws are just a typical politician reaction of trying to find a quick fix when none exists.
In other words, a distracted driver may be holding a cellphone or maybe not. Finally, most of the cellphone laws have exceptions for emergency personnel. I guess it’s possible that they have specific training on holding a cellphone, but somehow, I think they are human, too.
