Apparently, some people have 4 hour distracting phone calls and that’s worse than having a person in the seat beside you for 4 hours. Who knew!
I wonder when they are going to pass no smoking while driving laws. :)
In 2014 it was reported that 26 percent of crashes involved a driver on a cell phone.
In 2016, 9 percent of crashes involved a "Distracted -Affected" driver (which includes cell phone users which were 14 percent of those 9 percent).
The laws have worked if only to convince more people to NOT pick up the phone while driving.
It wasn't meant to stop ALL people from being stupid. It was meant to reduce the number of people being stupid. That it has done and continues to do.
