Today, 90% of the people on the road don't take driving seriously. A vehicle, any vehicle (or RV) is a lethal weapon, just like a firearm and like a firearm, vehicles and driving them needs to be taken seriously. Don't know how many times I've seen people yacking on a cell phone, reading a book, putting on makeup and even playing with themselves, all while driving down the road...
Amazing, amazing stupidity.
When I agree with the statement, once again I post that the situation on roads is result of law enforcement period.
I can bring thousands of samples about "nuts behind the wheel"
Every day I drive 6-lanes street with 45 mph speed limit. Occasionally somebody makes a turn into McDonald, or other place along.
Do you think they have to make positive stop in heavy 45 mph traffic to turn into wide driveway?
They do need to slow down to make the turn no matter how wide the driveway! This is where tailgating creates an issue along with no turn signal! I see a turn signal, I am backing off the throttle. I also would avoid the right lane unless turning myself. That is just part of driving, maybe cut a lane of traffic, and install dedicated right lane.
As I have also stated since 2010, I have hands free cell function, no more distracted than speaking someone in the next seat.
The biggest issue with cell phone usage is is holding the device, then it gets worse it the user decides to text!:S
In the new rig text is converted to audio, and I can listen to it, it also has voice to text function, have not used yet as I would want to totally understand the function, and if it was very simple to use.
If we get too deep into distracted driving, it will be considered distracted driving to check your mirrors as your eyes are off the road.!
