What state are you in ? Salvage titles vary state to state . As said , you may not need insurance if you pay cash and can self insure . Can you repair it to your satisfaction ?
I was in the insurance salvage business for 32 years and have seen many perfectly good autos and trailers sold with out titles for reasons that sound unbelievable , I have also seen sales where we thought that the adjuster must have been smoking something funny . Every deal is different and you must approach it as you think proper .
