I'll add to the glow step rally.
My previous TC had steel scissor steps that were hung on a two tab bracket. They were level with camper only when fully extend and when the distance to the ground was a perfect match to them. The bottom step was also at a different angle than the others due to differences in distance between holes in the brackets. I don't remember the exact measurement, but they were more that a 1/16" out.
Sue.t's top picture above shows the issue with the top bracket tilted down which allows the step to tilt. If the top bracket is perpendicular to the back of the camper the other steps should be level except for play in the scissor mechanism.
Current TC has permanently mounted glow step. There are 5 - 3/8" bolts holding the top bracket perpendicular to the back of the TC. As long as the camper is level the steps will be level no matter what the distance is. The double brackets make it very sturdy.
There may be other brands that work as well as glow step, I'm just not familiar with others. They are a little pricey. I'd like to see other brands and compare, but if I had to replace them I'd probably go for an identical set.
