- TurnThePageExplorerI have noticed that this mod helps a lot to keep the heat in during the Winter. It adds that extra barrier. I also added one of those screens that you walk through and it closes itself behind you with magnets. With both of them in place I have lots of options.
- Major_DadExplorerI used thin sheet aluminum instead. It's light, and I don't want the dogs to see outside anyway. Never have had a problem with them pawing at the door because of a squirrel or deer in the campsite; with a see-through material in the lower panel they might try to go through the flimsy door.
- jwstewarExplorerWe did the mod last summer. I just used the small thin cheap acrylic. It fits into the groove on the screen easily. It can also be easily removed from cleaning or on nice days. We have been extremely happy with it.
I was originally going to use the clips (they are still in the camper) but once I found the acrylic that would snap into the groove, I felt that was a cleaner/neater looking install. - texacokatExplorerWe used a heavy grade shower curtain and velcro. Folds up and ez to put up/down.
- blackhound1ExplorerWhat works good for cutting Lexan?
- Johno02ExplorerWE used Lexan, and mirror clips to hold it in. to clean, I can just remove or loosen the clips at the bottom(middle), and slide it out. It fits right in over the screens. One caution though, insect repellent (our was high DEET), will damage the lexan, and cnnot be cleaned, so be careful using the spray next to the door.
- YamaDooedExplorerI had a flexible vinyl window made which just snaps on and rolls up for easy storage. It keeps the heat or air inside without closing the main door. Also gives a great view outside when parked.
- DtaylorExplorerI added it to mine. My door had a channel that I was able to fit the plexiglass into. I simply flexed the glass enough to get it into the channel. Not taking it apart.
- rgoldingExplorerWe used clear plastic, like is used in covers for golf carts and dodgers on boats. They are held in place with Velcro on top nd bottom and then 1/8th inch cord in grove around door. The reason for the clear, flexible plastic over plexiglass or lexan was ease of storage. Rolled up panels just fold and fit in junk drawer.
- qtla9111NomadI used velcro tabs to hold it in place. Has been on since January and I can take it off and on. No issues.
