I have a Palomino Bronco 1200.Somehow, a very small amount of water finds its way into the very front corner of the overhead.I thought it was coming in through the bottom of the cloth sides, but today upon close inspection, I see the wood in the roofs corner is wet. So it is getting in through the roof.There are clearance lights, tie-downs, edge trim, etc that penetrate in this area. Lots of places for a little water to seep in.So, best way to fix? Spray stuff you see on TV? Remove all caulking and reseal? Something else out there for this?Any help is appreciated.Thanks!

Best way to find a leak is to either have an air test done, or do it yourself. Pressurize the air inside the rv and use a spray bottle with soapy water around the outside to find where the air leak is.It will blow bubbles when you find it. This is probably where the water is getting in. Saw a thread on how to do your own test. Cut a hole in the side of a storage tote to accept a leaf blower. Turn it upside down over an open roof vent. If all the doors and windows are closed, it should pressurize the rv enough to find the leak. Have not tried this yet, but in theory it sounds like it should work. Good luck.

Not sure what kind of roof you have alum or rubber. I have a EPDM rubber roof on my TT. I used Ames Research Maximum Stretch after a coat of primer. I bought their tape and tape the seams/joints/corners and coated over the top. Actually today I did the third coat and I would like to do 5. Essentially its liquid rubber that expands and contracts.I have no leaks! Google for the website.

Just want to thank everyone for the advice. It was the front tie down bracket and/or the clearance light. The wood behind the aluminum was totally rotten. I dug it all out and replaced with a new piece of wood. Used a small piece of aluminum sheet to reseal the corner and then used marine caulking to seal everything AND THEN covered the whole area with EternaBond.

It rained like hell for two days and not a drop of water in the camper! Yea!

Then these are the areas you may need to re-seal with a RV type sealant. As stated above the lights may be the problem. Good Luck

Yes, it will. Leave the roof down and it will seal up just as well as a hardside.

There are no seams on my roof. One piece aluminum.

Just the trim on the edges, the clip for the top hold down latches and marker lights are the onlt penetrations.

I would reseal the l marker lights for sure and check the trim and reseal it too. The lights are a main source of water leaks. I think any where that the roof has a rivet or screw should be looked at and resealed if needed. I really think the light are a big problem. They are cheap and tend to leak through the lenses or the base it's self. I replace all my marker lights with molded LED's and sealed them to the camper with ProFlex. I know the aren't going to leak. Good luck with your leak fixing project.

For soft sides like my boat canvas, I use a spray called 303, that beads the water off. Works good but does wear so I reapply every season. Ames is only good for rubber or aluminum applications. Happy Trails
