We bought the undercoating package for our TT. I'm pretty sure it will pay for itself in the long run. :B
It's surprising what the RV industry gets away with on their factory warranties. Extended warranties just aren't worth getting. Our insurance policy adds one year warranties onto the factory warranty for appliances and some other things. Doesn't cost much more at all.
We've had to fight on a few occasions to get things fixed that should have clearly been warrantied and repaired without hassle. I know many others have had the same issue and have even read about it often in TL mag.
I absolutely hate it when something needs fixing and instead of the TT manufacturer and dealer taking care of it for you, they flip you over to a 3rd party manufacturer (that you have no contractural relationship with) to deal with. Had to do it a few months ago with our axle manufacturer because all 4 brakes had grease in them at 7 months old!
If your frame has issues during the warranty period, it won't be the manufacturer's problem because you overloaded it and it's your fault or they will tell you "it's within spec.".
Even if you are lucky to get something covered under warranty, besides your TT taking around 6 weeks to get fixed at some dealers, don't always expect the work to be done correctly because some are inept.
