A strong cable lock or chain is probably the best security for a portable generator. If it is a Honda 2000, get the security handle add-on so a thief doesn't just cut the handle.
Otherwise, let's face it- a determined jerk with a prybar can get into any door (including the walk-thru door) in a few seconds. Thin aluminum and/or wood is not much of a deterrent for someone looking for valuables.
