I think sellers are mislead by nada.com pricing. My almost 9 year old 5er is nada listed as having an "average retail" value of about 75% of what I paid for it new in 2007.
The nada.com site does list the "suggested list price" which they define as the "approximate price of the unit when it was brand new". Not clear if that is also the MSRP, or if it is the typical sell price at the time. But I paid far less than that.
