Exactly. I owned a 2003 model that never left me stranded but cost me a lot of $ in repairs and poor resale value. We also had many of them at my work; one E450 van cost $24k in repairs before we let it go at 65k miles, but they all cost a ton of $ with horribly high downtime and were all replaced early in their lives.
Yes, there are many of them on the road, but as one poster said, they likely cost a boat load of $ to get them there. This engine didn't cost Ford over $1B in warranty repairs because it was stellar.
OP, I'm happy to hear that you're 6.0L story has been much better than mine. :B
