Nothing wrong with Monroe parts but I'm guessing your mech uses them a lot and maybe gets a price break on them? I say that because Bilsteins are pretty much the gold standard for shocks and struts. I'd bet monroes are cheaper to purchase and will do the job fine. Bilstein used to, may still have, a lifetime warranty. I've got 100kmi on Bilsteins on my truck and they haven't blown out yet.
You already know what coil over shocks are about. They work but I don't prefer them as shock mounts aren't designed to be load carrying. I'd put new shocks on the rear and use an add a leaf, Timbrens, stable loads or airbags before coil over shocks.
