On my 93 Dodge dually with arctic fox 1150, I had worn out, 20 year old factory shocks on the back, and some nice Monroe gas shocks that cost about 25 each on the front. I drank the internet koolaid and spent over $300 to put bilstien 4600 shocks on all 4 corners. Huge mistake! The rears are slightly better that the old worn out originals, but the fronts are WAY to soft an mushy. When I stop, the front of the truck bounces up and down a couple times, almost like there is no shock at all, and the ride is mushy and wallowy, not enough control. It feels kind of like a boat going slow, diagonal to the waves. These shocks might be OK on an unladen truck, but with a 5000 LB load, they are totally worthless. The cheap Monroes did a way better job, I wish I hadn't thrown them in the trash or theyd be back on there.
I don't understand how or why some of the other posters here like them. Maybe they have a lighter load than me, or replaced shocks that were totally shot?
