Shore GFI tripping when Inverter circuit is on

I've had my TT unplugged for about a year. Last week, I plugged it into a 20amp GFI circuit. All breakers on in TT. Turned on AC, furnace, etc - everything was good. Had it plugged in a week like ...

I don't know the exact details, but I had a friend with a similar problem last year. Turns out his problem was the electric water heater element. Tripped the GFI even when OFF. Might be worth a check.
