These last two posts are the devil on my shoulder.
Wife won't flip, can afford it, usually don't buy what I want to try and save money. I really do believe this next purchase to be the vehicle that we use for the bulk of our "family camping" days...for that reason, it would be silly to not go for the extras.
We spent a few hours on Saturday driving around a 1ton Chevy van with the 6.0. The space was amazing, but it just didn't feel like our personality.
Have an eye on the F150 with ecoboost and HD payload package. Half an eye on 2500 Dodge with the Cummins. Worried about longevity in the eco and the Dodge is really much more truck than we need, but I believe it could carry us into retirement in 20 years.
I bounce back and forth so fast, that even while writing this post I've talked myself back into staying with the current truck. :)
This is an odd comment, but this truck is the only one we've had since our boys were born. The family has a connection to it like a family member. Literally, the kids would cry if we mentioned selling. So, something is telling us that it wouldn't be a "family" vacation without the old girl, even if she whined the whole trip.
