Yes it's healthier for the engine if you go full on delete egr and everything.
Deleting does not make it faster. Tuning makes more power. Can do it with or without emissions. Without is easier to make more though.
5mpg claim is likely false. Pre Def/scr trucks that was a reality. Now much more modest gains in mpg if much at all.
IF I had a new rig personal opinion I'd run it emissions in tact (daily driver not a hot rod or toy) unless issues arrived that were more cumbersome than deleting.
After warranty was up, same thing.
