I used to work at a for dealership. We had. A fully deleted 6.7 come in for transmission issues took a ride in it and wow what a huge difference.
Also 95% of the work we did on the new 6.7 were from EGR and DEF issues and none of them are cheap to fix. Also your paying 10 dollars or more a gallon for DEF so take that into thought not just the money saved from more MPG but money saved from not having to buy gallons of DEF.
Think sinister diesel makes a good total delete kit. I'm not sure how hands on you are but the EGR is not terrible to get off just don't break the 2 little 10 mm bolts off!! The exhaust from downpipe back isn't too hard to get off either. 2 bolts and a ton of connectors for all the probes. **you could probably sell this used to save someone from paying 5000.00+ dollars for a new one.
I always said if I got a new truck the second that 60k warenty was up all that stuff is coming off.
Again its your call but I would do it for sure. More MPGs. More power for towing and no expensive DEF or EGR systems to worry about.
My 2000 7.3 just has a tuner and a muffler delete I'm only getting 15 MPG unloaded 10 or 11 pulling my 5th wheel.
$10 per gallon for DEF????????? you are kidding aren't you?????
more like $2.50 per gallon and that is good for about 100 gallons fuel which is 1200-2000 miles for me. so.... less than a penny for every 10-20 miles.
The truck stop I buy it at night its 10.99 per gallon jug. I'm sure its cheaper from a pump one but they don't have any near by.
It's probably a 2.5 gallon jug...or if not I'd shop elsewhere. Wally world has DEF for about $9 for a 2.5 gallon jug, and you could get it at the pump for under $3 per gallon.
