My TV is 10 years and 160k old, looks new so I will keep it for a long time yet unless it is totaled in a wreck. I would not be afraid to take it on a very long trip. I plan putting money into it as needed, cheaper than a new one. And I do not need or want one of those fancy dashes with its tv screen. Everybody has to do what is best for them.
