Back in the 60's when seat belts where optional, , ,
Yes we had them and used seat belts from as early as I can remember. But today they also do not recommend kids under the age of 12 be exposed to the explosive airbags. So you can no longer put the most compact kid in the front seat.

I have never given it a thought to have a sholder belt in the front seat. Maybe you can get a rear seat from a crewcab mounted in the front position?
