Shower water pressure

In our AF811 the water pressure is great for everything except the shower nozzle. At sink level it might squirt out about an inch, but raise it to shower and it just runs down the side of the handle.
Is this just a curse of the design?
A plain hose with a valve would be better.
  • Mine is fine. Check your sink diverter valve or the shower head cutoff valve.

Does this do the same off the pump and with hookups?
  • Remove shower and hose from faucet

Then check the end of hose for a 'restrictior'
If not in hose then check in shower handle for one

Some can be removed.......others just need to be drilled out (made larger)

Water pressure thru out rig is same/very very close to same so get rid of the restrictor.

Some will suggest swapping to an Oxygenic Shower.

My OEM w/o restrictor is great.....now!
  • I was using the pump.
Will try to locate restrictor device and disable.
The 90 degree fitting behind the faucets only has
about a 3/8 hole so I thought that might be the restriction.
    Will dig deeper.
  • Check for a restrictor in the head or in the faucet itself. They are really tiny and clog easily. We have hard water so I was constantly cleaning them. To make matters worse, I did not realize my kitchen faucet had two, one was well hidden. I contacted the faucet manufacturer and asked them if they had concerns with permanently removing both, and they said to go for it. I have not had an issue since.
  • Hey, don't forget though: if you take out the restrictor, you will probably burn through your water faster. Just to keep in mind.
  • The restrictor plate was just ahead of the shower nozzle.
Three 1/16 holes, with 2 blocked.
They are now 1/8 and if the pressure isn't satisfactory,
    the plate will be removed.
    Thanks for the help.
