Side Impact /Pole Impact protection

From what I've read, admittedly very little, the people in charge of adding all these regulations know very little about cars, traffic, roads, etc. They are bureaucrats pure and simple, with their main goal to perpetuate their jobs and increase their power. I really don't want bureaucrats in Europe, Asia, and Australia dictating the rules and regulations here in the States. You can ask the motorcyclists in England how that is working out: more rules, regulations, and laws passed with no input from the people being affected.
