Honestly, I really don't want the UN making decisions on my vehicle safety. There's no accountability. At least if it's the NHTSA I have some recourse, admittedly very little, by going to my congressman to see about the issue. Who does one talk to with the UN involved.
Maybe you don't mind having absolutely no control over who makes your laws and regulations, but I do, and the UN is not on my short list.
