Beautiful location, photography and of course the family enjoying the great expanse of the outdoors is fabulous! Of course should always visit water parks when you have children along. We always did that on our backpack trips, starting our out much younger than your little one. They grow up loving it and sharing it with their own kids now.
As for the cactus, in the Arizona area the common name is Claret Cup Cactus. There is a sample picture, of this cactus in bloom, in the ongoing thread in this forum, Americas Wildflowers on the Road in a Truck Camper.
