I have had the same type of problem and it was a tire developing a blister on the inside. The tire looked fine when inflated on the truck but if you let the air out you could see the tread had developed a concave appearance. It had a 2-3 inch wide blister that ran almost 1/4th of the way around the inside circumference. Easy to check for, jack up the front end, let the air out of the tires and see if the tread stays flat or changes shape on one tire versus the other.
