Take a look at the Winnebago Winnie 2301BH. But there isn't a slide.
Thanks, I checked and that is showing as "dealer stock only". Our local dealer has the 2451BHS, but they are asking $32K. Still quite a bit more than the Jayco.
Since you have one, would you say it's worth the extra $$$?
I can't really answer that since I see that you are in Canada. Is the 32K list price? If so, you should certainly be able to get a discount on that price.
We have a different model Winnebago...the 2201DS which has a slide, but no bunks. When we were doing a search for a new trailer last summer, we looked at a Jayco model with the murphy bed and a slide, but the model without bunks. Our biggest complaint with it was the lack of storage space. There wasn't any "pass through" storage area i.e. the front storage compartments located at the front of the camper, where the murphy bed is located, were very small individual storage compartments.
As we looked at other Jayco models, the other thing we noticed is that Jayco tends to put shorter awnings. Our Winnie has a 19' awning on a trailer that is 26'10" overall in length. From what I saw, Jayco is putting a 15 or 16' awning on comparable length trailer. That being said, if we could have found the "right" traier for us in the Jayco line, we may have purchased one. Jayco is known for backing up their product and the 2 year warranty is a plus.
In terms of quality, I think the Winnebago Winnie line is slightly better than than the light weight line of trailers by Jayco. But, I haven't had the Winnie long enough to back up that thought. The fit and finish of the Winnebago was a bit bitter than the Jayco models we looked at.
If the Jayco has adequate storage for your use, you may be happier having a camper with a slideout....I wouldn't have downsized from our 29' Sunline trailer to a smaller trailer without having a slideout.
Have you taken a look at the Winnebago 2451BHS? It has a slide as well as bunks, but a traditional front queen bed. Looking online, they are available in the lower 48 for around $24K (US). http://www.billplemmonsrv.com/inventory/343132/New-2014-Winnebago-Industries-Towables-Minnie-2451-BHS.aspx
The 2451BHS is basically our 2201DS with the bathroom made smaller in order to add the 2 bunks. And, it doesn't offer the outside kitchen. But, with the bunks creating less storage space in the bathroom, the outside storage compartment is probably really needed. Depending on price difference, that may be the way to go.
If I can answer any other questions, just let me know.
Good luck in your search!
