- GrandpaKipExplorer III've never really liked Simple Green. It always leaves a slimy feeling film that is hard to get rid of. Takes lots of water to remove. I certainly would not use it on my roof. Dawn is my go to cleaner.
- Bigbird65ExplorerHave any of you ever used Dawn dish washing detergent on your rubber roof? How effective was it?
- wanderingbobExplorer IISimple Green will etch glass . I left some drippings set on my Allegra Bay Bus windshield over nite , had to take it to a glass shop and they polished the spots out .
- WalabyExplorer IIHmmm.... Simple Green has citric acid
Use of products containing citrus may ruin roof and void warranty.
Think I'll pass

I stand corrected. Maybe its not the best product to use on a rubber roof.
Simple Green Ingredients
Dicor Rubber Roof CareCAUTION: DO NOT use cleaners or conditioners containing petroleum solvents, harsh abrasives, or citric-based cleaners. You may cause irreparable damage to your roof and/or may void your warranty.
But then Simple Green has this to say. Cleaning Rubber RV Roof - JIMNLINExplorer IIISimple green up there can get slippery so be careful.
As the liquid is washed off the roof it can take the wax off the sides off the trailer which I usually wet down first.
After every thing is dry I wax the trailers sides.
My trailer is 20 years old and still looks like new however I don't wash the roof but maybe every 6-7 years. - skilesExplorerThat's what I use on my roof. It's great stuff, says me.
- MurphsmomExplorerWe used to use it on our whitewater raft for taking off the black marks that the aluminum frame left on the rubber. It worked great for that. We used it full strength and scrubbed the raft with a scrub brush. We did that for many years with no ill effects. I would have to imagine that a diluted form would work well on the rubber roof.
