I drag race and tow a 20 foot enclosed trailer. Looking to get a truck camper for my 2004 dodge ram 2500 quad cab short bed with the 5.7 hemito take to race track instead of hotels So its just me staying the in the camper. I am having a hard time finding the exact camper to fit my needs and was hoping someone on her can help me. My bed measures 6'5". I would like a camper with a shower, fridge, and ac unit that will allow me to close the tailgate.Basically all that i want is the shower and to close tailgate!! I can live without the fridge if need to.Any models out there??Thanks!

Sorry, with most modern campers you would have to leave the tailgate at home.Some of the "popup" style campers might let you keep the tailgate but would not have a "shower" in a 6.5' bed configuration.

Thanks guys i dont need the tailgate but I was nervous about the trailer getting close to the camper if it sticks out past the tailgate. I will post some pics soon.

pheonix popup looks cool but I am in pa and no where near Colorado. I wouldn't mind traveling some for the right camper but that's just too far.

Is there a way I can have camper that goes past tailgate and still tow my trailer? maybe longer receiver?

Perhaps look at the Capri brand truck campers... those are directed towards cowboys who need similar accommodations and who tow horse trailers.
