slide in for Toyota Tacoma with tailgate down

Newbie on your site; looking for a fairly light weight camper with a footprint that's 42" wide and up to 92" long. I'd like to use it with the tailgate down for the extra space. Long ago, I had a SixPack that was built for a Toy long bed truck and liked it well. Does anyone know if such a creature is still made? I can't afford a new custom build one. Thanks for any ideas.

you just about have to go to the rodeo deluxe to get more than a basic box.

  • the Palomino SS600 with air, power jacks, lists for about $14k and has a sales price of 11,000.

  • Capri Rodeo deluxe built in Texas. Lightweight hard side TC.. Buy new between $8000 and $9000.
  • SixPac is out of business, so unless you can find your old camper or another of the same model, you're out of luck.

FourWheel campers, as linked above. Also the little Palomino/RealLite.

On the hardside side, not much out there. All I know of is the LivinLite CampLite 5.7. It's just a bed, sofa, and sink, though. Even then you're talking about 1200lbs empty, which is quite a load for the little Hilux.

they look neat but I just looked at a Lance 865 (IIRC) for 24K and these are 14K plus a bunch extra for anything added. but would be able to use a Tacoma instead of a 150 however. don't know if I would like having a portapotty however.
I see that palomino also has a dakota/tacoma model SS600.
