Slide leaking

Hello everyone!

I just registered want to thank you for having me, I look forward to learning as much as possible.

Here's my question: We just bought a new 2020 Prowler 276re with a single slide. When we brought it home we discovered a leak the first night.
We took it in and they said it was repaired, seal replacement. Well I had found three or so brad nails that had penetrated the membrane on the inside top of the slide. They set a sprinkler up and let it spray for a while and all was supposed to be good.

We went to a family reunion and returned home and put the slide out to unpack and air it out. It's on a bit of a slant inwards towards the camper and it leaked again. We don't have a completely flat spot on our property that is accessible and out of the way. Is it common that these slides will leak new from the factory if there is an inward slant? I think the problem is the nail holes that penetrated, but I'm wondering if we should take it back as this will be the third repair in only a month and we've only had in our possession for about a week total. We expected maintenance, but this is a little discouraging.

Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
  • “Is it common that these slides will leak new from the factory if there is an inward slant?”

No! Get it fixed. Raise heck with the dealer and manufacturer. Be the wheel that squeaks.
  • Welcome to the forum! It is not uncommon for a slide to leak, but I would say most don't. If the slide slopes down into the camper, that is not good. Unless you are really off level, most should slope away from camper.

As to warranty repairs, fix the small things yourself, or the dealer will have it more than you for the first camping season.

  • Get it fixed as soon as possible. Leaks are the death of campers. It will rot out the floor near the slide in no time.
