Given that increase in the number on slides per TT at the last RV show, I don't think they are going away any time soon.

there is more that can go wrong with slides but owner inspection and maintenance is important. no problems with our living room slide so far after a year.
the extra space is the deciding factor for us. i wouldn't own a tt without at least 1 living room slide. we prefer to spend most of our camping time outside the TT, but we glamp winter, spring, summer and fall. there are times here in north carolina when its hot as heck, cold as heck, or raining. nice to have the extra room to spread out and relax in the comforts of a TT
