Slide size

When My 2015 Keystone Cougar Travel trailer's slide is in, it is not easy to get to the back of the trailer from the front. It is necessary to push the slide out. Not very convenient for a short stop to have a snack or use the pot. Are there any trailers that have slides that do not completely cut off access to the interior when it is in. Our 2008 Cougar 5th wheel could be accessed with the slide in. Can anyone suggest a make or model that will be more suitable. I'm willing to trade.

  • We need to open the slide about 10 inches to use the bathroom. Push a button - out it goes. I don't see that as a problem to be concerned about.
  • I don't think manufacturers really put much thought into how a TT is with the slides in. I can't get into my bathroom with mine closed.

There have been many times when you can spot me on the side of the highway with my slide half way open so my kids can pee :)
  • I have a 2012 PrimeTime Tracer 29' travel trailer. The slide is only about 18 inches deep, so when it is in, you can still get to everything.
The Tracer is totally aluminum framed, lightweight, and insulated for four seasons. I love it. Have had it since June 2012, live in it for three months every summer in CO. Never a problem, except for one leaky window. Fixed under warranty. Forest River no owns Prime Time.

  • Outback 298RE. I spent lots of time in my trailer with the slides IN before I purchased. Everything is accessible. Squeezing between the two slides in the rear is a bit tight for a fat man, but I can get back there and access all the cabinets. In the bedroom, all the cabinet doors are accessible, so is everything in the bathroom. The bathroom has absolutely no restrictions, door or anything.

  • Our flagstaff v lite we could get to the bath and kitchen with the slides in. It was a triple slide wrote. I think they still make that model. Check them out at forest rivers website
