One of my widows is a slide, the others are two push outs and two crank outs. The push outs are also emergency exits.
The cranks are the worst, they are only 6 to 8 inches tall depending on the window size, they crank open about 9 inches. The push outs are better, the entire window opens and the bottom is about 12" out. However these have only two positions, fully open or fully closed. The slide opens one half the window space, but it get dirt in the track and is hard to move.
So like most TT owners we just adapt to what we have because it is not too likely the trailer elves will be changing the windows while we sleep.
If I has a choice I like the old time multi-pane crank opens already mentioned, otherwise I would probably go with the slides and keep the tracks cleaned.
