Small durable travel trailer

We are looking for a small durable travel trailer. Something that is resistant to corrosion. Similar to a good class c (leisure travel unity) with a dry bath and insulated. Under 18'.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

    All,

Thank you for these suggestions. I really like some of them for this use. I was surprised the even the Camplite 11FDB had a workable bathroom.

It is funny that the aluminum trailers listed here do not seem to fear the salt as does other much more expensive aluminum trailers.

The Oliver for example seems to only be available from the manufacturer. What does one do for service (as everything breaks) under this restriction?

Pat, the Oliver, like the Casita which I owned for 10 years is sold direct....they will honor any repair by a certified tech all across the country....As far as the Oliver structure, not to much to go wrong there...most repairs will be about components, components that most all RV's share...
  • I've seen a lot of Casitas lately - they seem to be getting popular. The owners claim they are very well made. They also tell me they are relatively expensive.

  • Winnebago has come out with their new Micro Minnie, 19 foot, nicely appointed interior. I has a small wet bath. Frame is powder coated and the trailer sides and roof are constructed with aluminum. To come in at 3000 pounds dry weight. Go here for photos and info.

  • Two words: good luck.

I see you may be from NJ, where all that salt, chemicals and beet juice is spread like they are insane. The only thing you can do is keep it off the roads till the spring rains wash the roads.
  • You'll want to look long and hard at Lance Travel Trailers:

    Lance Travel Trailer Lineup

    1. Small? YES (the 1575 is 15' 5" Floor Length) (the 1685 is 16' 3" Floor Length)

    2) Durable? YES One of the best manufactured TT on the market

    3) Lightweight? YES The 1575 dry weight is 2,700bs - the model 1685 is 3,650 lbs)

    4) Resistant to corrosion? YES (Lance uses "huck bolted" frames without the rust prone welding. Also use Aluminum wheels.

    5) Dry Bath? YES, a nice large shower stall and commode. The 1685 has a bathroom sink, whereas the 1575's only sink is in the kitchen)

    6) Insulated? YES The Lance travel trailers are fully 4 Season Travel Trailers. From dual pane glass to enclosed heated holding tanks and gate valves.

    7) Under 18'? YES There are some significant differences between the 1575 and the 1685 (storage amongst the biggest difference.) For example, Fiberglass roof (1575) and a TPO roof (1685 - fully walkable)

Lance Mfg has the corner on the market for small 4 season TT. They're light because the use of Azdel, which resists mold, mildew and water damage. Azdel (a thermoplastic substrate - Made in the USA) also has soundproofing and insulation R factors that can't be beat! They're also light because Lance uses LitePly instead of traditional plywood. The same kind of wood found in corporate jets, durable and light weight. The use of stainless steel fasteners, CNC routing and built to a zero tolerance - their TT's Truck Campers and Toy Haulers are all built without formaldehyde and other toxic glues/adhesives. All LED lights make it easier to boondock, etc

Watch a YouTube explaining how the Trailers are made:

    Lance Camper Factory Tour

It took me two late model trailers (Minnie Winnie and also a Arctic Fox) before I hit on the Lance

  • These are aluminum body trailers. . .

    http://www.livinlite.com/camplite-overview.php

Someone posted a link to this company tonight, they are teaming up with Ford and their new all aluminum pickup truck, with a new all aluminum slide in camper that will meet the lighter weight restrictions, along with being rot resistant, and able to have a kitchen, bath, and all that stuff.

    Have fun shopping!

    Then have fun camping!
