- rbpruExplorer IIWe left Indiana in a snow storm headed for the Everglades. Spent the first night dry camping in KY, spent the second night in TN where we added water. Lows in the 40s and upper 30s were fine.
On the return trip a month later, we had snow in KY so we drained the fresh tank when we dumped in gray and black tanks before leaving.
We blew the water lines and added anti-freeze the next day at home.
I was a long long winter that year. - coolmom42Explorer IIYou could dewinterize pretty quickly at an overnight stop once you are far south enough to out of sub-30s temps. Until you hit that point, you can pour a couple of gallons RV antifreeze in the black tank, and flush and wash hands with water from jugs on board.
- Artum_SnowbirdExplorerDrain the black tank really well, then clean it out really well. Then put 2 or 3 gallons of RV antifreeze in and pull the drain valve again until you see the antifreeze coming out the pipe. Now your valve and drain pipe are filled with antifreeze. Do the same with the gray tank.
Use it when you have to, and mix up a bottle of half water half antifreeze to flush with. - USAFBILLExplorerA lot of Rest Areas between Illinois and Arizona. Slow down and enjoy the trip. Good luck
- Opie431ExplorerWe used antifreeze to flush also. We used baby wipes to do most of our washing up.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIRun with the heater on.
- WyoTravelerExplorerDoes your Jayco TT have the insulated under body cover? Or is everything exposed? On my previous Jayco 19RD Jayflight with the insulation underneath I traveled in freezing weather but had the TT winterized below 10 degrees F. I still used the toilet but flushed with RV anti freeze. We used bottled water to wash up in the morning and dumped into the black tank.
