X2, I think it freezes on the slide-top because of less insulation in that location. Also, slide awning-toppers makes it more difficult to clear that ice.
It's nice to have a floorplan that can also be used with the slide in.
The rig seems to be warmer and easier to heat. ( less volume to heat plus a tight seal ). Pull it in during the night, you'll save propane .
