It's nice to have a floorplan that can also be used with the slide in.
Our current trailer is the first of many we've owned that has a slide but it's a shallow sofa slide that doesn't restrict interior access in any way if it's in. I don't have a topper and wouldn't as it's quite easy to just sweep clean of leaves, tree cones, needles, snow, etc. With a much larger deep slide maybe I'd consider a topper but as it is I do fine without. :)
